Around age 1, toddlers begin to say their first words and follow simple directions. This is an exciting time for all!

During this session we will discuss:

– Strategies for supporting your child’s use of language

– The relationship between play and language

– Early social skills

– Screen time

Speaker: Katrina Jenkins, RSLP, S-LP (C)

Katrina is a paediatric Speech-Language Pathologist with Vancouver Coastal Health on the North Shore. She works with children age 0-5 years old with a large variety of speech and language skills. She completed a Bachelor of Arts at McGill University followed by a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of British Columbia. She is a new mama to 8 month old, Malia. Outside of momming and speech therapy, Katrina enjoys playing soccer, hiking, and snowboarding.
